Onboarding · Level 2 · Two-Way

Everything in Sync — then teachers move in.

Two-Way onboarding is the full Sync path plus one extra phase: activating the teacher portal. Do Sync's phases first — SIS connected, staff seated, students and families linked — then bring faculty inside. The teacher steps below are what's new.

Phases 1–3 · The Sync base

First, run the Sync playbook.

Administrator signs up and brands the portal · IT connects the SIS · staff get invites · advisors get linked to advisees · students sign in and set their free time · parents get accounts and guardian links to their children. It's the same sequence, step for step — follow it there, then come back for Phase 4.

Phase 4 · Teachers come inside

What's new at Two-Way.

STEP 10 · Administrator

Invite the faculty

Send teacher invites from People — same expiring-code links as every other role. Each teacher lands in the teacher portal with their sections already there from the sync; nothing to build from scratch.

STEP 11 · Teachers

Set categories & weights

For each class, set grade categories and their weights once — tests, homework, labs, participation. Weights are what tell the prioritization engine how hard each assignment should pull in every student's ranking, so this step is worth ten minutes of care.

STEP 12 · Teachers

Import the syllabus

Feed in the syllabus you already wrote and NexusPlan drafts the term's assignments — dates, types, points — for you to review and confirm. A semester of planning lands in students' radars on day one.

STEP 13 · Teachers

Post your first real assignment

From here on, posting in NexusPlan is the workflow: due date, points, type — save, and every student's plan re-ranks instantly. Enter grades in the grid as work comes back; students see each result on the assignment itself, never a running average. (Write-back to your SIS: Coming soon.)

Post once — every planner updates.

Phase 5 · Fully live

Two-Way is done when all of this is true.
